The Department of Education was established in 2017 with the commencement of a two-year B.Ed. and M.Ed. programme. The Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education B.Sc./B.A.B.Ed. programme was started in the following year. Recently, in consonance with the implementation of NEP 2020, considering the requirement in schools to engage counsellors from session 2022–23, a postgraduate diploma in Guidance and counselling has also been introduced. With more than 600 students and an enthusiastic faculty, the department is a leading quality teacher education institute.
